Eighty nine families relocated after flash flooding in Attapeu

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Some 89 households were moved to higher ground after heavy rainfall over several hours caused flash flooding to dwellings and routes in Sanamxay district, Attapeu province on July 2-3.

Sanamxay district Governor Bounhom Phommasane told Vientiane Times yesterday that “Authorities did not receive reports of major damage from any sectors. However, we are speeding up assessment of the damage and also surveying flooded areas after a drop in the water level.”
